Chat-Com transforms radio communications for The Grove, a luxury hotel and championship golf course.
The Grove approached Chat-Com to resolve coverage, channel capacity and audio issues with their existing analogue radio system. Chat-Com Engineers visited the site to understand the issues thoroughly, consulted to suggest the appropriate solution and were able to demonstrate the necessary improvements with a live demonstration of Digital Radio with improved coverage and audio clarity.
Following a successful trial, we installed a new digital radio network with high-gain omnidirectional antennas to guarantee coverage across the entire site. Chat-Com supplied new digital radios, replacing their old analogue handhelds.
Chat-Com improved its radio network with clear, reliable coverage across the entire property. It created additional capacity for multiple departments, from the hotel and spa to the greenkeepers on the course.
In line with our commitment to sustainability, we reused existing equipment wherever possible. We seamlessly integrated new radios into the existing fleet of 70 radios on the new digital network. Our solution also incorporated advanced features, such as integration with the fire control panel, which notifies certain key members of the team to the location of the fire – directly to the handheld device. This has dramatically improved processes and logistics regarding the health and safety of staff and guests at the hotel.
Additionally, we supplied a hybrid radio and android device that enables the greenkeepers to carry one device to remotely control the Rain Bird irrigation system and communicate with the teams on the radio. The greenkeepers on site were very pleased with this additional feature, saving time and efficiency.
